We will assess whether or not the child can stay in the group. To assess whether or not your child can attend daycare, we look at the following aspects:

• The health and well-being of the child. A child who is not feeling well deserves extra care and attention. It is difficult to keep a child who does not feel well with you at all times, despite this often being necessary
• The health and well-being of the other children at the daycare
• We can provide care while taking our day program into account
• Whether we can offer a sick child sufficient attention and care sometimes depends on the group at that moment in time
• With an eye infection, for example, it is still possible to take good care of a baby and prevent further contamination. However, this adequate care becomes more difficult with older children and with multiple infections. Therefore, it is possible that we respond differently to each case, even if children are experiencing the same symptoms

Fever

With a fever, it is especially important to determine how the child is feeling. Children can also have a fever when their teeth come in. We aim to determine whether the child is able to join the group. Parents will always be contacted without any direct consequences.

We would like to be informed if your child has also had a fever the day(s) before arriving at our daycare. Often it can appear that your child is doing well in the morning hours, however, this usually deminishes as the day goes on.

We try to assess what is suitable for each situation in consultation with the parents/guardians.

The Elfenbankje has taken out legal liability insurance for all children who visit us.

If your child needs certain medication, this can be indicated on our list of medications.
